Award Recognizes Recovery Force Health’s MAC System, a wearable DVT prevention with a tubeless, cordless design to boost patient mobility, compliance, and comfort.
[Fishers, Indiana] – August 7, 2024 – Recovery Force Health (RF Health) has been named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Healthcare Technology category in the first annual Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence, “the Olympics for technology.”
The Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of individuals, teams, and organizations shaping the future of technology across all industry sectors.
Winners of the awards, named the Stevies from the Greek word meaning “crowned,” will be recognized during a gala awards dinner on Monday, September 16 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
More than 600 nominations from organizations of all sizes in 21 nations and territories were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of tech-related categories, including Company of the Year, Educational or Research Institution of the Year, Technical Innovation of the Year, Technology Breakthrough of the Year, and more in a variety of industry groupings including Advertising, Marketing, and PR, Aerospace Technology, Biotechnology, Business Technology, Healthcare Technology, among others. Recovery Force Health is a winner in the Technical Innovation of the Year category for its Movement And Compressions (MAC) System.
The MAC System is more than just a mechanical compression device. It gives the needed squeeze to prevent blood clots and the true cordless/tubeless design allows patients the freedom to be mobile and become more engaged in their care. Additionally, MAC empowers caregivers with critical metrics to support the execution of in-hospital mobility and adherence to the recommended 18-22 hours of DVT prophylaxis. Based on clinical trials, healthcare providers can expect to see an increase in compliance to prophylaxis, patients mobilizing more often which correlates to a decrease in length of stay, and fewer patient refusals.
“We’re honored by The Stevie’s recognition of the MAC System as a Technical Innovation of the Year,” said Jason Bobay, President at Recovery Force Health. “We created this product because we saw that other compression devices were constricting, inconvenient and uncomfortable – contributing to poor adherence. We are thrilled to see our peers in the business world recognize this product, and I am grateful to the RF Health team for their passion and commitment every step of the way.”
“RF Healthʼs MAC System represents a significant leap in healthcare technology by addressing critical issues associated with traditional pneumatic compression devices,” said a Stevie Award judge. “RF Health’s dedication to enhancing patient care and recovery makes them a deserving candidate.”
More than 100 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s honorees.
“We congratulate all of the winners in the inaugural edition of the Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence for their outstanding performance, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements on September 16,” said Stevie’s president Maggie Miller.

The contract was awarded based on the recommendation of the MAC System by hospital experts who serve on one of Vizient’s customer-led councils, and it signifies to Vizient provider customers unique qualities that potentially bring improvement to the healthcare industry.

“We are extremely proud to receive the Innovative Technology designation on our Movement and Compressions System,” said Jason Bobay, President at Recovery Force Health. “This recognition by Vizient and its provider customer-led council further validates the importance of enhancing patient engagement to drive better compliance with DVT prevention and early mobility.”
The MAC System is more than just a mechanical compression device. Additionally, MAC empowers caregivers with critical metrics to support the execution of in-hospital mobility and adherence to the recommended 18-22 hours of DVT prophylaxis. Based on clinical trials, healthcare providers can likely expect to see an increase in compliance to prophylaxis, patients mobilizing more often which correlates to a decrease in length of stay (LOS), and fewer patient refusals.
“Congratulations to Recovery Force Health for being awarded an Innovative Technology contract,” said Kelly Flaharty, senior director of contract services for Vizient. “Our customer-led council recommended Movement And Compression System for this contract based on the efficiencies it offers and its potential to make an incremental difference in health care.”
Vizient represents a diverse customer base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute healthcare providers and has a portfolio that represents more than $140 billion in annual purchasing volume. Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient works with customer-led councils and task forces to evaluate products for their potential to bring real innovation to healthcare. Vizient may award a contract to products deemed worthy of the Innovative Technology designation outside of the competitive bid cycle.
